Critical Marine Components
The Glosten Associates has provided engineering and design support to the integration and installation of electronics, radars and antennas on ships and ocean platforms. These projects have given us a broad range of experience and a critical understanding of the impacts of the shipboard environment on sensitive equipment. Our experience has equipped us to support the design and installation of performance-critical marine products.
Glosten engineers understand vessel motions, mechanical vibration, acoustics and climatological environments that affect the performance of shipboard equipment and we are able to perform analyses to assess and mitigate these impacts.
Glosten offers a full range of technical consulting and engineering services, including:
- Shipboard vibration measurement, including forced response (shaker) testing and mechanical vibration surveys.
- Structural vibration modeling, including the use of global vessel and detailed finite-element models to predict vibrations using modal and forced response analyses.
- Prediction of vessel motion characteristics, including frequency-domain, statistical, and time series data.
- Development of practical vibration criteria for design of performance-critical components.
- Engineering and preparation of detailed designs of installation-specific isolation systems.
- Acoustic environment predictions.
