Tugs

Glosten provides design and construction specifications for tugs of all types, including ship handling tugs, tanker escort vessels, coastwise and offshore towing vessels, and river and shallow draft towboats. Our designs employ all principal types of propulsion.

Working closely with our clients, we synthesize the clients’ needs for special arrangement features, machinery preferences or operating characteristics. If existing vessels or stock designs will meet these conditions, then we may still assist the client in the technical aspects of acquisition.

We often assist owners in assessing the performance of existing or future vessels. Our capabilities in simulation of ship-tug interaction forces and maneuvering characteristics provide us with the tools to tailor vessel design to specific operational needs.
